The miniature dachshund is at the same time loyal, aggressive, social and courageous. Being a hunter dog, they are independent by nature and have a high spirit. They would bark loudly at strangers, however, they would be tolerant to them, once the introductory period is over. They are always alert and have self-explanatory facial expressions. They have a good sense of trailing by virtue of its keen nose.
